Messages are returned most Sundays. Laptops can be dropped off at 4750 N Sheridan 24/7 at the reception office of the ICA (First Floor Entrance.) Arrangements can be made for laptop pickups and drop off with special considerations. Laptops need to be in working order and no older than 2012. Hard drives, if provided are securely wiped during the refurbishing process.
The laptop ministry distributes older laptops, refurbished with easy to use Linux, to people living in Chicago with the goal of reducing e-waste while benefiting folks who need a laptop or need their laptop "renewed."
The initiative became a ministry of the Peoples Church of Chicago in April of 2023.
Folks looking to donate their older laptops can do so by bringing them to the main desk at the ICA (reception office) at 4750 N Sheridan, Chicago IL (24/7).
